The Volunteer Support Services Programme, Palliative Care NSW, and the NSW Network of Managers of Palliative Care Volunteers invite you to join with us in a celebration of palliative care volunteering.

Normally held every second year, our volunteer conference was last held in 2019. We are so excited to be able to gather together again. The conference attracts palliative care clinicians and volunteers, pastoral care staff and volunteers, other health care workers and members of the public with an interest in volunteering or palliative care.

Palliative Care Volunteers from all over NSW relish this opportunity to meet with their peers, swapping stories and experiences. Volunteers from rural and regional areas are strongly encouraged to attend. For some, it might be their first time meeting a fellow volunteer from outside their area.

It is with the generous donation of the venue by RSL LifeCare ANZAC Village that we are able to offer such value for money registration prices. We hope that by keeping the prices down it will encourage people to make the trip into Sydney and take advantage of all the conference has to offer.

We have an exciting program of events scheduled. We know that many palliative care volunteer services had to reduce the number of volunteers on their books during COVID and recently have been trying to refill their ranks. We have designed the content to be suitable for new volunteers as well as those more experienced in their role. We are confident there is something here for everyone.

We know how big NSW is, and how difficult and expensive it can be to get to Sydney. We have a limited number of accommodation subsidies available for rural and regional volunteers on offer, in the hope this will make the conference more attractive. If you are a Volunteer Manager and would like to apply, please email Kate. Applications close 17 July.

We look forward to seeing you all there.

Regards,

Carolyn Wilkinson & Janet Pearce, Co-Conveners of the NSW Network of Managers of Palliative Care Volunteers and Kate Bowman, Manager, Volunteer Support Services Programme, PCNSW
